A Six-Week Manners Class for Dogs & Their People
Your dog knows the basics. Now it’s time to take those skills somewhere.
Canine Etiquette is a structured, six-week group class for dogs six months and older. It’s designed to help dogs and their people turn foundational training into practical manners they can use at home, on walks, around visitors, and out in the real world.
Every session is grounded in positive reinforcement. No punishment, aversive tools, or intimidation. Just clear communication, meaningful rewards, and realistic guidance that helps you understand your dog—not simply control them.

WHAT YOU AND YOUR DOG WILL LEARN
Knowing how to sit in the kitchen is one thing. Responding when another dog walks past, a guest arrives, or something exciting appears across the street is another.
Over six weeks, you’ll work on:

Loose-leash walking

Calm behavior around people and other dogs

Appropriate dog-to-dog interaction

Reliable responses outside the home

Understanding canine body language
You’ll also learn how to recognize what your dog is communicating so you can respond before excitement, uncertainty, or frustration becomes a bigger problem.
Canine Etiquette isn’t about expecting your dog to behave like a robot. It’s about creating clear communication, building trust, and helping your dog make better choices in everyday situations.

HOW CLASS IS STRUCTURED
The first session is a mandatory orientation for humans only. No dogs at orientation, please. This is where you learn the training philosophy, get your questions answered, and set yourself up to get the most out of the five working sessions that follow. It sounds like a small thing. It makes a real difference.
After orientation, classes meet Saturday mornings at 9:45 AM for five weeks. One hour per week. Same group, same structure, progressive skills.
Class size is limited to 12 dogs and spots are limited!

What age is Canine Etiquette for?
Canine Etiquette is for dogs six months and older. Dogs of all adult ages are welcome.
Does my dog need previous training?
Your dog does not need to be perfect, but some familiarity with foundational skills is helpful. Puppy Academy graduates are welcome, as are dogs who have learned basic skills at home or through another training program.
Is this a beginner or advanced class?
Canine Etiquette builds on basic skills and teaches dogs how to use them in everyday situations. If you aren’t sure whether your dog is ready, reach out before registering.
How many dogs are in each class?
Class size is limited to 12 dogs.
What training methods are used?
Positive reinforcement only. No punishment, prong collars, e-collars, or intimidation.
What if I miss a class?
Make-ups aren’t guaranteed, but you’ll receive guidance on what to practice at home so you can stay on track with the group.
What should I bring?
You’ll receive a welcome email after registering with treat recommendations, leash and collar guidance, and everything else you’ll need.
What is the refund policy?
Because spots are limited, refunds are not available once the program begins. Please reach out before registering if you have concerns.
