Next available classes:

  • AUGUST 1 - SEPTEMBER 12 (Skipping Labor Day weekend)

  • OCTOBER 3 - NOVEMBER 7

For puppies 10 weeks to 5 months old. Six Saturday sessions, limited to 12 puppies, positive reinforcement only.

Puppy Academy gives your puppy the foundation they need and gives you the skills to maintain it. We cover the essentials: sit, down, stay, leave it, recall, loose leash walking, wait at the door, plus the stuff nobody tells you about first: bite inhibition, impulse control, house training, and how to build a puppy who's genuinely confident rather than just compliant. Socialization with people and other puppies is woven throughout.

We start with a mandatory orientation session (just you, no puppy) so you walk into week one already knowing what to expect. After that, every class is hands-on, practical, and built to connect directly to your real life at home.

$325 / 6 sessions / Max 12 dogs Saturdays, 9:45 AM at The Family Dog, 4048 S 2700 E, Salt Lake City, UT 84124 /

Vaccination Requirements: Puppies must be current on age-appropriate vaccinations, including DHLPP and Bordetella. Rabies is not required for puppies too young to receive it.

What Our Clients Say

A happy customer and her dog

Pepper and Abby, Tennessee

I took an intro puppy class with The Canine Life Coach when my dog was just 6 months old, and it was the best decision I could have made! Mo gave us practical tools to handle common puppy behaviors like jumping, nipping, and house training while also teaching us the foundation for good leash manners and recall. Her positive reinforcement techniques made training fun for both me and my pup, and we’ve built such a strong bond because of it. If you’re starting your dog’s training journey, Mo is the person to guide you every step of the way!
